The NHL Central Scouting Bureau released its 2011 final draft rankings, and the first Manitoban on the list is Joel Edmundson. Joel improved on his midterm ranking of 69th, to where he currently sits in 33rd position among North American skaters. He is a defenseman, who spent this past season suiting up for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League. This was the native of Brandon’s first season, and in his first campaign he had 20 points in 71 games, complemented nicely with 95 penalty minutes. Rink coach, Jon Cara worked with Joel last spring, as a coach on his spring team, the Eastman Mavericks. The Rink wishes Joel and his family all the best in the coming month of lead up to the draft.
