Great Skill Not Often Practiced
Many of the skills that are used in games today are often overlooked during the season by coaches. The players get used to hearing "Don't try that in practice, you would never use it in a game." That saying should not apply to players at any age. The fun part of hockey for young players is trying the things they see in the NHL. Allow players to be creative and still play within the structure of the team. If a player tries a toe drag at the offensive blue line and turns the puck over explain to them why this is not the place to try that move. Players like Crosby and Ovechkin and Backstrom (from the clip) do some amazing things in games. I am guessing that in the game is not the first time they have tried some of these moves.
