This week THE WEEKLY WORD will not only be providing you with some exciting news regarding the performances of some of our athletes, but we will also be filling you in on injury reports for some of our players who you may not have seen on THE "DUB'S" in the last couple of weeks. HERE WE GO FOR ANOTHER WEEK...
FROM THE NCAA.....
Katherine Wilson - (JR) UMD
Wilson is becoming somewhat of a regular on THE WEEKLY WORD, as she continues to consistently contribute offensively to her teams success. Although the Bulldogs were not able to record two points against Wisconsin this past weekend, Wilson was able to record a Goal on the weekend.INJURY REPORT: Brendan O'Donnell - (FR) UND
O'Donnell has not seen action with the Fighting Sioux since their opening weekend. He is out with a lower body injury, but is expected back in two more weeks. Keep an eye on THE WEEKLY WORD, as we expect Branden will be making an impact upon his return to the SIOUX.
FROM THE WHL...
Michael St. Croix - Edmonton Oil Kings
St. Croix makes his first appearance on THE WEEKLY WORD. The Winnipeg Native was recently drafted by the NEW YORK RANGERS, in this past summers NHL ENTRY DRAFT. Michael is known to be an offensive threat, and is just starting to heat up as the WHL Season gets under way. St. Croix had a 3 point effort (1 Goal and 2 Assists) to help lead is Oil Kings to a 8-4 win over the Portland Winterhawks. With the 3 point effort, St. Croix sits at 12 points (4 goals and 8 assists) in just 13 games. This definitely won't be the last time we hear from St. Croix on THE WEEKLY WORD INJURY REPORT: Cole Hamblin - Spokane Chiefs
Hamblin has been on the shelf for a couple weeks with a lower body injury. The injury occured 3 weeks back and at the time was not expected to limit Cole to much. But after further assessment it was realized the injury was more severe then expected. Look for Cole to be back in the RED, BLUE AND WHITE, of the Spokane Chiefs in the near future.
Well that's it for another week of THE WEEKLY WORD. This week gave us an opportunity to give a shout out to some of our wounded soldiers, and let them know we are still thinking about them at THE RINK.
