Green With a Quick Release

The Capitals had a great offensive game against the Red Wings on Saturday night.  Here is one goal that showed how skilled they are.

A.) Puck Movement on the Power Play- Watch as the puck moves around from down low in the corner to the strong side point.  The D-Man does a great job of getting off the wall and moving to the middle to ope up the lane to come back to the forward.  Ovechkin comes up high to support the puck and fires it across the seasm to Green.  The puck moves very quickly forcing the Red Wings to be oput of position and seams to open up.

B.) The Seam Pass- Ovechkin moves this puck so fast after he receives it that no-one has the opportunity to recover and get back into position.  The key here is that he knows where he is going to pass the puck before he gets it so that when he does get it he can move it right away.

C.) Recieve Pass and Shoot- The release on Green's shot is so fast that there is no way the goalie can get over fast enough to make the save.  He receives the seam pass and lets the puck go all before the penalty killers have a chance to block his shot.  He is shooting with his head up to make sure he knows where the puck is going.

This is a great job by the Caps at moving the puck to create seasms and capitalizing on the offensive chance.
Come work on your skills within the game to make you a better assest to your team.

See you at The RINK.
